Cursed Treasure 2 – Now Out!

If you’ve stuck around the Flash world for long enough then you’ve definitely come across Cursed Treasure: Don’t Touch my Gems. Cursed Treasure is one of the most polished, well-made and successful tower defense games ever made. With its level of depth and gameplay customization, this game appeals to anyone that enjoys tower defense genre. Now, Cursed Treasure 2 is finally out and promises to be better than ever. The game will hook you with it many levels and tower customization. When I first played Cursedc Treasure, the whole genre had really begun to bore me. I didn’t enjoy them anymore, as all of them seemed the same, but Cursed Treasure breaks so far out of the normal, with its level of quality that it made me love the genre once again. So if you liked the original Cursed Treasure and its level pack, or even if you’re new to the series (you don’t need to play the first one to figure out what’s going on — all you need to know is that there are a group of people that are trying to take your gems) then there is no doubt that you’ll be playing this game for the next couple of days. Armor Games Introduces Quests!

If you’ve been to Armor Games recently you may have noticed a new and exciting feature! Yesterday, January 17, Armor Games officially unveiled their own achievement system that will allow you to earn badges that are then displayed on your profile. This is very similar to how you would earn achievements on similar sites, such as Kongregate and Newgrounds or even on the much larger Xbox platform. This is one of the main features that I thought was lacking with Armor Games, especially following Newground’s achievement implementation in 2009, and even though they’ve missed the bandwagon by a few years I think that this will draw a lot more people to the site and promote some great games. So if you’ve found other achievement systems to be as addictive as I have and already enjoy Armor Games then you’re sure to be hooked for the next couple of days!

jmtb02 Joins Kongregate!

For the past eight years jmtb02 (John Cooney) has been creating content for Armor Games and has been the Head of Game Development for their site for the past five years, but recently has joined the staff of Kongregate. While he may no longer be working for Armor Games he is sure to continue the adventures of the little blue elephant and continue to make unique games. He has created such games Achievement Unlocked, Ball Revamped, Elephant Quest, Epic Combo, Exit Path, Frontier, Hedgehog Launch, This is the Only Level and more (totaling nearly fifty to sixty games availble on the Armor Games site). No official announcement has been made on the Armor Games (although, an announcement has been made on Kongregate and confirmed by Cooney), but it is apparent that a new developer will claim the title of Head of Development for Armor Games.

If you’re a big fan of Kongregate, like I am, then this is really exciting news; John is often considered one of the best Flash game developers out there and now he has signed on to the Kong team. As was mentioned by the various admins during the announcement, internal game development will always be small, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be seeing John’s new games every couple of months (which is the usual delay). As was the deal with Armor Games and their exclusivity period, Kongregate will probably host many of John’s games for a short period until they make their way to the other portals. Overall, this is a bit of a shift in the Flash world, but nothing too substantial – John will continue to make games, but under Kongregate.

Mini Heroes – Now Out of Beta!

If you’ve been keeping up with the Mini Heroes beta, or are just a fan of the Castaway series by Likwid Games (of course, the same developer as Mini Heroes) then this is a very exciting day! Finally, Mini Heroes is out of beta and all of the dungeons are open. Unfortunately, if you played the game in beta then your account is wiped, but a special item is given to all beta testers. If you remember playing Castaway then you’ll find yourself right at home in Mini Heroes where many of the mechanics are similar as well as the gameplay. I’m very interested in how this game will progress as more and more players are introduced to the game. If you’re looking for a crafting guide, which will become very important in the game, check out our guide, which you contribute to! I hope to see you guys around the game. Android Reaches 25 Billion Downloads, Plus Huge Sale!

Mini Heroes Beta (Castaway Multiplayer) – Now Starting!

If you’ve been paying close attention to the Likwid Game forums, or their Facebook Page, then you’ll be very excited to learn that the beta for Mini Heroes has just begun! Mini Heroes is by the same developer as the mega-hit game Castaway 2 and plays in much the same fashion, except it integrates multiplayer in the game. Currently, the game is up right now, but LIkwid Games has said that the game will be playable very soon. If you’d like to join in on the fun before the game comes out, then head on over to this site and sign-up. This will allow you to post in the forums and, by my understanding, when the game comes out, you’ll be able to play it. Of course, since this is a beta some features are not included in the game and the game will, hopefully, get progressively better, as beta testers find various issues with the game. I’m really excited for this game to finally be reaching beta and I know there are many others with me.

Recently, Likwid Games unveiled the first look at their new game, Mini Heroes, a multiplayer sequel to Castaway 2. The game features hundreds of different weapons and armors and will be released later this summer! As you can see from the screenshot, the game’s artwork is completely redone to work better in multiplayer situations, with much more detail and is zoomed-out a bit compared to the previous Castaway games to compensate for multiplayer. I’ll continue to keep you guys up to date on the development of Mini Heroes.

My Pet Protector 3 – Now Out

You heard it right – the third My Pet Protector is finally out and once again brings you the exciting world of Arkandia! Like the previous My Pet Protectors you take control of the life of a young warrior who must restore peace to the land and, in this game, rebuild his or her town. You can six years until the game finishes (in one week increments) where you must work for monkey, train your skills, explore dungeons, collect loot and kill various monsters. This is a very fun game to play and after you complete the game an option to continue playing without a deadline is available, allowing for unlimited play as doing everything in the game in the alloted time in next to impossible. If you enjoyed the previous My Pet Protector games then you’ll love this game. Be sure to play it today on Armor Games!

Cursed Treasure 2 – Coming Soon!

Many of you probably remember Cursed Treasure: Don’t Touch my Gems, but recently announced by IriySoft, is the sequel, Cursed Treasure 2: Hey! Heroes! Leave Us Gems Alone! This game topped the list of best games on many sites and in my opinion is the best tower defense game to ever be made. If you’ve played the game then you most likely have fond memories of all of the levels and the exciting gamplay. The game’s art has been dramatically changed, from a more realistic look to a more cartoon-like look that has been popular with many successful TDs lately, which I despise, especially when I’d already fallen for the beautiful art of the first Cursed Treasure. The art is the only noticeably different so far. There hasn’t been too many releases on what the game will change, but hopefully the game will retain everything we love about Cursed Treasure: DTmG and bring even more to the table. I’m really looking forward to it and will be posting a release article when it comes out to keep you guys up to date!

Mini Heroes, Sequel to Castaway 2 – Release Date Announced!

Most of us have probably played and enjoyed the awesome game that is Castaway 2, by Likwid Games. The game was extremely popular and eventually make its way all over the internet. If you’ve payed any attention to the Likwid Games forums or keep and eye on the Armor Games blog, then you’ll know that Mini Heroes, the sequel to Castaway 2 (or at least closely based on the Castaway series) is going to be making its way to Armor Games this July. What is interesting about Mini Heroes is that the game is actually multiplayer. Not too many details have been released on what exactly that means, but if all goes well you should be able to fight along side other players. Hopefully the developers won’t take too many advantages that the gaming community has expected from MMO, such as real-world currency – as long as there aren’t too many advantages to paying players then I have no problem with the game. According to an Armor Blog post, the game will feature over 1000 craft-able items! This is an insane amount and I can’t wait to experiment with different combinations.

Anyways, I’m really looking forward to the game. I’ll be sure to keep you up-to-date on when exactly the game will be out, so far, it’s simply July and I’ll keep you up-to-date on the latest news on Mini Heroes. I know that the Likwid team has been working hard on this game for a long time now (about eight months) and I can’t wait to play the game. One last thing, if you “like” the Mini Heroes Facebook page then you’ll gain access to the beta for the game once it begins. I’m assuming that beta for the game kick-starts early June, giving the game a good month of feedback and bug-killing before an official release.
