Hands of War 2 is the sequel to the extremely popular Hands of War which was featured on countless sites and portals. Hands of War is a pretty free-roam, make your own choices kind of game that allows you to join multiple factions, gain allies and make new enemies! Along the way you’ll equip your hero with countless weapons and armors, benefiting you in battle! There are three different classes to choose from, Ranger (which once again is over-powered, yay!) Warrior and Wizard all of which will start with different weapons and will give you totally unique gameplay experiences as you’ll want to join different factions and you’ll have a different battle style! Like the previous Hands of War, Hands of War 2 comes with a huge map to explore and to fight in! Hands of War 2 is currently beta, but will be out on Armor Games soon!

Opening Scene – Choosing Your Class and Faction!

As the game begins, you are given a choice between several character classes, the Ranger, the Wizard and the Wizard! Each class has it’s own independent faction that you can join, along with the storyline-based Guardians and Phoenix classes. As always, the Ranger is the best/most over-powered class because Rangers can attack quickly from long-range and when enemies come close to you, you can easily out run them and fire again. Also, Ranger classes allow you to use very little energy, so that when using special attacks you can use as much as you want! I would definitely suggest that you go with the Ranger class as it provides so many benefits over the other class. If you enjoy dealing massive amounts of damage and fighting closely, go with the Warrior class and if you’re looking for a class strongly tied to energy go with the Wizard class as there are many powerful spell. If you’re looking for the over-powered/invincible class if played correctly you’ll want to go with the Ranger class. In this menu you can also choose the game difficulty, we’re just going to go with “Normal” mode for this walkthrough. This walkthrough will be done through the Ranger class perspective. As we accept our class and game mode we find ourselves in location A-2 (“A” being the vertical row (A-J) and 2 being the horizontal row (1-14)).
If we looks around in location A-2 we’ll see a citizen of Tempor, Balefor. Balefor will inform you about the civil war in Tempor between the Guardians and the Phoenix. The Phoenix believe that they should attack the Guardians and plunge Tempor into another civil war and the Guardians believe that another war shouldn’t be started. Most the the back-story is included in the opening cut-scene of the game. Refer back to that cut-scene if you don’t fully understand the factions, you’ll have to join one of them soon! Balefor will insist that you meet with his brother Skik.
Skik will give you a quest to complete. He want you to learn how to fight the enemies in this land. This quest will quickly teach you how to fight enemies. Based upon the class that you chose you will fight the enemy in a different way, so if you chose the Ranger (like me) you’ll fight with a bow from long range, if you chose the Wizard class you’ll fight with a basic spell and for the Warrior class you’ll be granted with a sword and will fight closely with the enemies. Skik has summoned illusions for you to fight. Accepting this quest will challenge you to kill five of these illusions. Completing this quest will grant you five gold pieces. This will take no time for you and should be relatively easy! To attack a target, click upon the enemy and your character will automatically attack it. You can use specials by using the short-cut keys, 1-5 or by selecting them at the bottom of the game screen. Upon killing all four summoned illusions, proceed to Skik and he’ll congratulate you and then give you the five gold pieces once you’ve hit the “Complete Quest” button. Skik will inform you to travel to the east for further instructions.
On location B-3 you’ll encounter one of the great cities of Tempor. In these cities you can save your game, buy new weapons and armors from the merchants and buy new skills. Moving to location B-4 we’ll find two sign, “Honor” and “Revenge.” Honor leading to the Guardians and Revenge leading to the Phoenix. You can join either of these factions and you can always trade factions if you wish to do so later in the game. Talenbor, in location B-4, will inform us that we must join either faction! Once we choose our faction we must go to their location, either north or south of B-4 and then seek out the quest giver which’ll present us with our first quest! For this walkthrough we’ll go with the Phoenix faction, but you may choose either faction. Note that if you choose the Guardian faction you will not be able to follow this walkthrough. Please refer to this walkthrough (by us) that’ll go over the entire Guardian storyline.
Lions, Tigers, Wolves?!

If we head to location C-3, we’ll find our first optional side-quest that we may complete. This side-quest is entitled “Lions, Tigers and Wolves?!” and like the title suggest we will be dealing with one of those three creatures, but specifically the wolves in location C-3. Around us in this location are three wolves. Citizen Hinder, our quest giver for this specific quest wants us to kill 10 of these wolves. The reward for this quest is 20 gold pieces and a little experience points from killing the Young Wolves. Accept the quest and kill 10 Young Wolves near you.
If you’re a ranged class, such as the Ranger, or the Wizard, I’d suggest that you stand as far away as possible from the wolves and fire your bow or staff. Keep firing at the Young Wolf until it is dead. If done correctly the Young Wolf should die before it reaches you. Another tip is to fire at the enemies that are not close to another enemy. Alerting another wolf will cause you to not be able to kill the two or three wolves that are now chasing you and if you don’t have sufficient run speed the wolves will catch up to you. Luckily, Rangers will be able to go about the same speed as the wolves. The Young Wolves have around 90 health points, so you should be able to take them out in about 4 hits. The Young Wolves will do little damage to you so if they do reach you, just continue to attack them. Since these are melee enemies hiding behind an obstacle will not help much.
Once you’ve killed 10 Young Wolves the black circle under Citizen Hinder will change to a green circle. This indicates that your quest is complete. Report back to Citizen Hinder and he’ll congratulate you. Hinder says that he’ll investigate! Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your 20 gold pieces.

For this walkthrough we’ll be following the Phoenix storyline. Move south of B-4 and meet with the quest giver there. He’ll be on the southern part of C-4 and will have a yellow circle under his feet. Move next to him to talk to him and Captain Ocal will mention that the surrounding nations must be punish for their deeds! Ocal wants you to prove your worth. Ocal informs you that there is a Guardian camp to the north that are trying to stop the Phoenix recruiting. He wants you to kill all of the Guardian members to the north. Ocal has agreed to send help with you. The reward for this quest will be one of these three items, the Steel Gloves (warrior class), the Leather Tunic (ranger class), or the Silk Slippers (wizard class).
Ocal wants you to kill 5 Guardian Pledge units from the camp to the north. Let’s travel to A-4, just 2 locations to the north. Once we arrive to A-4, we’ll find the 5 Guardian Pledge members that Ocal wanted us to kill. Now that you’ve enter A-4, you’ll also notice that you have warriors and a bowman with you now. This was the back-up that Ocal was talking to you about! With this back-up and the sheer weakness of the Guardian Pledge members you shouldn’t need to really worry about stayign alive! My tips for every time that you fight are to attack units that are broken off from the rest of the group. Once the enemy comes in close enough, your warriors will begin to attack the unit. Your attacks don’t hurt your Phoenix members so don’t stress of finding an angle where your attacks won’t hurt an ally. This battle will be extremely easy.
Once you’ve killed all five Guardian Pledge members report back to Ocal, at C-4 and speak to him once again. Note that this time, Ocal, the quest giver, has a green circle underneath of him. This indicates that you’ve concluded this quest and can talk to him now to claim your reward. Walk next to him and talk to him. Ocal will remark that you took too long! He’ll exclaim that you must have been toying with them. Claim your reward that you wish to receive. The Steel Gloves should be given to your chracter if he is a Warrior, the Leather Tunic should be given to your character if you’re a Ranger and the Silk Slippers should be given to a Wizard. Select the item you with to receive and hit “Complete Quest.”

Now that we’ve completed our first Phoenix Quest, “Join the Cause,” we need to find our next Phoenix quest! let’s travel to C-1 and seek council with Captain Meninoca, our next quest giver! He’ll be standing on the far east side of C-1 and will have a yellow circle underneath him. Captain Meninoca will inform you that they raided a Guardian camp last night and all of the prisoners that they took are already dead. Meninoca decides that you may still be of use. He informs you that the camp to the east has several Guardian Novices in it and some of them may be carrying spell books. The Guardians are learning how to heal themselves. Meninoca wishes for you to kill all of the Guardian Novices and to return with one of their spell books. The reward for this quest is an Old Rock Necklace. Accept the quest.
Let’s move east to the Guardian camp that Meninoca wishes you to visit and find a spell book at. Move to C-2. Guardian Novices will do about 9-10 damage to you and can heal for 40 health points when they’re low on health. They have ranged attacks and have 91 or 104 health points. These units will also have slowing spells which will reduce the movement of your character by a large percent. For this battle I’d suggest that you take cover behind the fence to the west, or take cover behind the tree to the northwest, or take cover behind the tent to the northeast. Basically, take cover behind something! Only attack enemies that are broken off from the pack, so that the other Guardian Novices don’t take notice of you. If you’re low on health, take cover behind one of the objects I mentions and wait while your health heals back up. Note that while you’re not attacking your enemy they can heal.
The Guardian Spell book that you’re after is a drop item from the Guardian Novices in C-2. Once you have the book you may choose to report back to Meninoca in C-1, or you can gain a little extra experience points and kill off the rest of the Guardian Novices. Once you have the book and are ready to go, report back to Meninoca on C-1. Meninoca will congratulate you, but will remark that those enemies were weak. Complete the quest to receive your Old Rock Necklace.

Since I’m a Ranger, at this point of the game I’m looking for a new weapon! If you’re a Ranger go to B-1 and accept the quest there. If you’re a Blademaster, go to the camp at D-1 and if you’re a Magician go to the camp at D-4. Since I’m a Ranger I’ll detail the “Beard Shampoo” quest at B-1. Make sure that you accept the “Report to Commander Feng” quest before proceeding so that we don’t have to run back and forth.
Once you’ve accepted the “Report to Commander” quest move to B-1 and speak to the quest giver there. He’ll explain that the Magicians in the camp to the southwest have stolen their tamed wolves and are using them as test subjects for beard shampoo. The Warders have tried to make contact with the Magicians many times in the past months, but all have been unsuccessful. He insist that you go to the camp and kill all 6 Novices there. The reward for this quest is a Broken Pine Bow, which’ll be a huge upgrade over your current Training Bow that you got at the beginning of the game.
The magicians camp can be found to the southeast, at D-4. Move there and make your way behind the tent. Fire at the Novices there. Stand behind the tent at an angle so that none, or only one magic attack is hitting you. Try to kill Novices that are broken off from the pack so that other Novices aren’t alerted. Once you’ve killed all 6 Novices report back to the quest giver, Fotan, on B-1. He’ll congratulate you and will inform you that, that should stop the cruel testing in the area. Hit the “Complete Quest” button and you’ll be awarded a Broken Pine Bow. Be sure to equip the bow.
Report to the City!

Upon completing the previous quest, “Insult to Injury,” Captain Meninoca will tell you that Lord Ulok wants to see any new outstanding members of the Phoenix faction. He says that all of his “best” recruits are out on special missions, so he’ll send you. Captain Meninoca wants you to report to Lord Ulok in the city to the northeast. Meninoca will award you with five gold pieces upon completion of this quest. If you remember correctly, there was a grand city just northeast of location C-1. We actually past it before reaching the point where we got to choose which faction we wanted to join and you probably past it once again when heading to location C-1. Head northeast of C-1, to location B-3. Enter the city. Ulok is the southwestern part of the town. Ulok will be surrounded by a green circle. Move towards Ulok to talk to him and he’ll mention that he’s heard you’re the best recruit the Phoenix have. Then he challenges you to a quest. Click “Complete Quest” to complete this quest and to be rewarded with five gold pieces.
Guardius’ Secret!

Upon completing the “Report to the City” quest, Ulok will inform you of the story of Guardius. He tells you that Guardius was once a trusted man of the Phoenix. That was until he ran off with the HeartStone and formed his own band of rebels. Luckily, the Phoenix murdered him before he could tell the Guardians of the location for the 4 HeartStone shards. Unfortunately, Guardius had hid the four shards all around Tempor in an effort to stop the Phoenix. A historian to the northwest has decoded one of Guardius’ Reports. Ulok wants that report. The reward for this quest is 7 gold pieces and possibly the location to the first HeartStone shard. Accept the quest.
Let’s now travel to A-1, the most northwestern part of Tempor. The first thing that we want to do when we arrive at A-1, is to go behind the tent to the northwest. Take out the ranged magic user that is closest to the north and then take out the archer and kill the last magic wielder by moving to the western side of the tent. The unit that will drop the Guardius Report is the Guardian Historian. He is dressed in red and is the unit closest to the tent. He is also a magic user. The Guardian Historian has 171 health points, is level 5 and deals 14-15 damage. The historian does not heal for any amount. The Guardius Report is a drop item by the Guardian Historian and is a 100% drop chance.
Once you’ve cleared the area and have picked up the Guardius Report, go to the southeast, to the grand city again and speak to Ulok. Ulok will be in the southwestern part of the city an d will have a green circle underneath of him. Ulok congratulates you on your good work and then after running the document through a stolen translator discovered that the Guardian Historian did find the first location for the HeartStone Shard.
The Reclamation!

Ulok mentions that he is hesitant to send you on another important mission, but he has trusted you so far with smaller quests. He mentions that, according to the Guardius Report, the first shard is located in a cave to the southwest of the city, your current location. Ulok believes that the Guardians already have caught word of this and have sent soldiers there to retrieve it. You may have to fight these soldiers once inside of the cave! Ulok warns you that the shard is probably well protected by neither the Phoenix, nor the Guardians. Ulok wishes for you to find the shard and bring it back to him. Completion of this quest will give you one of three items, the Infantry Breastplate, the Archer’s Treads, or the Gloves of Spark. Accept the quest and head to the cave to the southwest.
Head to the location marked on your map, D-2. Notably, there will be a decent sized cave on the screen. In front of the cave is Tyfall. This is an optional side-quest and you don’t need to complete this quest, but you may if you wish. He’ll mention to you that the Phoenix Shard Seekers are already in the cave! He’ll give you pack up as long as you promise to kill at least 20 Shard Seekers! If you wish you may accept this quest and go for the 25 gold pieces that serve as the reward!
Whether or not you accept the optional quest “Race for the Shard,” or not, enter the cave. Note that multiple enemies will “agro” you so it may be best to let the other Phoenix members team up with you! A total of three members will come along with you. Two warriors and one archer will join you. I highly recommend bringing these soldiers with you. Protect them well enough and you might be able to bring them to the boss at the end of the cave. I reccomend attacking enemies that are separated from the pack. Attacking an enemy that is close to another enemy will alert the unaffected enemy and the affected enemy that you’re there. So to make it more one-on-one combat take down enemies that are separated from the groups.
If you start at the beginning of the cave, the boss can be found by follow these steps: up, right, up, up, up, left.
Once you reach the end of the cave you’re faced with Strangleweb, basically it’s a giant spider that had venomous attacks! Here’s are a couple of tips on how to beat it: firstly, the attacks that it fires at you are impossible to manually dodge (due to you dexterity level at this point of the game you’ll not be able to dodge them), save yourself time and just keep firing. Secondly, once the soldiers come through the cave entrance stand behind the poisonous goo that the spider left behind. This will cause the Shard Hunters to walk through the goo, dwindling their health points. Finally, after you’ve killed all three Shard Hunters, the long ranged attacks by the spider will cause that green goo to appear, unlike before where it was complete random. Once hit by the initial blow, fire off one more shot, move fire again and once you’re hit again repeat those two steps.
Once you kill Strangleweb a trigger point will appear. Enter it to find yourself outside of the cave again. At this point, if you completed the Race for the Shard quest you can turn that in to Tyfall, or you can race back to Ulok. Either way, you’ll need to go to Ulok to turn in the “The Reclamation” quest and proceed with the storyline. Proceed back to B-3 and talk to Ulok. He’ll congratulate you and then warn you that you need to find three other HeartStone pieces! He informs you that you need to seek out the Guardian camps in Souther Tempor.
Recon Mission!

If we move to G-2, we’ll find another grand city. Outside of the fortress is quest giver, Isis. Isis has suspicions that the wolves are coming from the cave to the northwest. Isis believes that the wolf infestation is coming from the cave to the northwest and would like us to investigate the cave. He does mention that we do not have to do anything else, but check to see if there are any wolves in the cave, so let’s make our way to the cave.
Let’s make our way to the cave. It’s located on F-1. If wish you may kill the wolves outside the cave for the experience that they hold. They’ll be a good source of experience at this point of the game. The only requirement for this quest is to enter the cave and get back to Isis. Enter the cave. At this point you can explore the cave, there may be treasures, or a boss battle like the last cave that when investigated. Of course the last cave had a HeartStone shard in it, this cave does not. Since there are no obstacles in this cave it’s be hard to find a safe place from the wolves. The Rabid Wolves have 171 health points. Equip a good weapon and take out the Rabid Wolves from afar with your bow or staff. Only attack one wolf at a time and make sure that the other wolf doesn’t notice! The wolves will agro you if you come close to them, so keep on eye on your health. Once you’re ready to leave the cave do so.
Let’s find our way back to Isis. He’s where we last saw him, back on location G-3, next to the grand city. Report back to Isis and tell him about the wolves that you found in the cave. Isis contemplates upon doing something about the wolves in the cave and then gives you your gold. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your 35 gold pieces.
Rabid Wolves!

After completing the “Recon Mission” quest, Isis will talk to you about killing 10 Rabid Wolves. Isis wants to clear the cave of Rabid Wolves. He says that the wolves have been attacking and infecting people in recent times. Isis promises to look more intensely at the situation while you go and kill 10 Rabid Wolves in the cave. The reward for this quest is 40 gold pieces. Hit the “Accept Quest” button and let’s once again make our way to the cave.
The cave is to the northwest of your current location at F-1. Make your way there again and let’s kill 10 Rabid Wolves. There are three at the entrance, so if you wish you can kill three of these wolves then walk inside of the cave and kill the two in there and then explore deeper into the cave for five more Rabid Wolves. It’d probably be best if you didn’t attack the wolves outside of the cave because they are closer together, thus you could easily have three Rabid Wolves attacking you and you’re working with limited space.
Try to attack a Rabid Wolf when it’s broken off from the pack so that the other don’t agro you. Wolves in this cave range form 170 health to 220 health, so check their health bars before attacking. The same rules apply to attack the wolves as last time. Stands away at a considerable distance and fire your bow or spells. If you’re a warrior, attack the one that’s broken away from the pack, but if you can handle the heat try fighting off two wolves at the same time. Once you’ve killed 10 wolves find your way back to G-2, as marked on your map.
Once back at G-2, speak to Isis. He congratulates you and then remarks that a skilled fighter like you probably didn’t have much trouble. Hit the “Complete Quest” button and claim your 40 gold pieces.

After completing the Rabid Wolves quest, Isis will inform you that after a bit of research, he’s determined that someone must be controlling these wolves. Rumor has spread of a man living in the cave, proclaiming himself as The Wolfmaster. Isis claims that the wolf infestation can be taken care of by killing this man. Isis insists that you explore the cave in F-1 for the Wolfmaster. Completion of this quest will gie you one of the following items Justicar’s Kneeguards, Treads of the Heron, or Robe of Silence.
Once again, make your way to the cave at location F-1. Immediately enter the cave and make your way to the very back of the cave. For experience points you can kill the Rabid Wolves inside the cave. If you’re close to leveling up do so, this will allow you to spend a bit of extra points on your stats before the mini boss battle. At the back of the cave you’ll find the Wolfmaster.
The Wolfmaster is actually very easy boss and he’ll have around 1480 health points. If you want, there are a total of 2 very different ways to complete this boss battle. You can kill the two wolves protecting him first, leaving the Wolfmaster unprotected from your attacks, or you can run around the cave, always out of reach of the wolves attacks while fighting the Wolfmaster. I’d go with option one, but depending on your play style there could be multiple ways to defeat the boss. The arrows will be pretty hard to dodge, especially if you haven’t upgraded your dexterity, which ties in with you run speed. If you can’t dodge the arrows then don’t waste your time trying to and just keep attacking him. The Rabid Wolves may also act like shields for the Wolfmaster. The Rabid Wolves are pretty big creates, but if they following you there should be a problem. Try to use any spells that you’ve acquired so far in the game. Use potions if need be.
Once the Wolfmaster is dead, leave the cave the same way you came from and find your way back to G-2. Report to Isis and he’ll congratulate you on your good work! He insists that you take one of the items. Take an item and hit the “Complete Quest” button.

If we proceed to southwestern Tempor, like Ulok suggested we’ll run across an abundance of camps in the area. The first camp that we’ll want to check out is one that’s actually on the path that we took to get to the southwestern part of Tempor. Find your way to G-3. Here you’ll find quest giver Canagan. Canagan will inform you that when the Black Council, the leaders of the Phoenix faction, issued the Grand Exile some of the Phoenix faction members joined the Guardians. Canagan believes that these traitors should be punished for their betrayal. Canagan informs you that there is a Guardian camp to the west, where many of the Turncoat Soldiers reside at. He wants you to kill all of the Turncoat Soldiers there and then report back to him. You must kill 5 Turncoat Soldiers to complete this quest. The reward for this quest is 35 gold pieces. Accept the quest.
Let’s move west to G-1, where we’ll find the band of Turncoat Soldiers that are part of the Guardian faction now. Since all of these are melee soldiers there is no need to hide because they’ll find a way to you nonetheless. I stood in the lower right-hand corner and took out the soldiers that we separated from the pack. Take those soldiers out first. If you can, take the risk and take out 2 or more soldiers at a time. This will be easy if you’ve spent your points in the right places and if you have at least the Broken Pine Bow in your arsenal. The Turncoat Soldiers have 151 or 173 health points and deal 7 to 16 damage.
Once you’ve killed all five of the Turncoat Soldiers report back to Canagan on G-3. Speak to Canagan and he’ll congratulate you for delivering justice to Tempor. He also informs you that there is another Phoenix camp, just southwest of your current location and south of the camp you were just at. Hit the “Complete Quest” button and claim your 35 gold pieces.

Upon Canagan’s recommendation we shall travel to the southwest to the next Phoenix camp. At H-1, we’ll find Captain Ruelle, our next quest giver. Ruelle mentions that the leaders of the Phoenix faction have heard word of you and are impressed thus far. Ruelle informs you that this quest will be much more challenging and will further impress the leaders. He then explains that the camp to the east is being used a command center as the Guardians look for the HeartStone shards. Ruelle then tips you off about oil reserves that are outside of the Guardian command center. He wants you to destroy the command center there and then report back to him. The reward for this quest is the Shining Jewel. Accept the quest.
Move to H-3 and hit the trigger point. This will cause the command center/tent to blow up. The debris will still provide a shield from the archer fire. Quickly move behind the fence and take out the archers on the western side of the screen. All of the Guardian archers will be alerted so just take out the soldiers from left to right if you wish. Note that you don’t actually have to take out all of the Guardian archers since the requirement for this quest was only to destroy the building, but for now the Guardian Archers are a good source of experience points and faction points (faction points are important to getting the quest to go after the last shard).
Guardian Archers will have 190 or 247 health points and deal 19-22 damage per hit with long-ranged bow attacks. Guardian Archers are level 11. They also have a slowing move that’ll cause your movement to be decreased dramatically.\
Upon reporting back to Ruelle he’ll exclaim that the men could hear the blast from here and were taking bets upon if you were alive or not! Ruelle believes that the hype about you may just be deserving and he tells you that the locations of the next Phoenix camp is to the east of your current location. This will be the last camp in the area. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim the Shining Jewel. Equip it, unless you have a better jewel for your character.

At this point of the game I’d like to grab a new weapon for our character. The Warder’s camp to the southwest has a excellent new weapon for us. Of course, if you’re not a Ranger, try grabbing some new weapons or armors at your own alternative faction camps (Warders, Magicians and Blademaster) at these locations I-1 (Warders’ camp), J-2 (Magicians’ Camp) or J-3 (Blademasters’ camp). At I-1, since I chose to be a Ranger, we can find our quest giver, Deloso. Deloso explains that a Warder’s patience is valued as one of the highest disciplines. He explains that, while patience is valued very highly, he has become exhasted by the Blademasters’ ignorance to the wild-life. Deloso wishes for you to poison their water supply and then report back to him. The reward for this quest the Nightstalker bow. Accept the quest.
We have to head to the southeast for this quest. Make your way to J-3, the Blademasters’ camp in the area. If you notice there is a trigger point next to the watter supply. Hit the trigger point and be prepared for a fight. The Greenblades will have either 212, 243, or 275 health points and hit for 10-24 damage. There also have a slowing move that’ll cut your movement speed by a considerable percent. You probably can’t take down all of the Greenblades at a time, which is what happens when you poison the water so I’d suggest getting out of there. If you’re not careful and they’ve surrounded you they can easily do 100-200 damage in a short amount of time. Try to get out of there and report back to Deloso at I-1.
Deloso will congratulate you for your excellent work and will reward you with the Nightstalker bow. Hit the “Complete Quest” button when you are ready and you’ll receive the Nightstalker bow. Be sure to equip it, unless you have a better bow.
Guard Your Tongue!

Upon Ruelle’s suggestion, we’ll travel to the last Phoenix camp in this area. To the east of H-1, we’ll want to travel to H-4, just east of H-1. Once there speak with quest giver Jei. Captain Jei explains that last night a group of drunk Guardian members were speaking of a beacon that their wizards had crafted for them. Apparently this beacon can be used to spy upon the other camps and overhear their conversations. Jei believes that they will start using these beacons soon. He also wants you to find one of these beacons and bring it back to him. He may have use for it. Jei has investigated and now believes that the wizards to the south are working with the Guardians and may have more beacons with them. Jei wishes for you to travel to the south and kill the wizards there. They beacon is a drop item. The reward for this quest is 45 gold pieces.
The mages that we’ll be going after are the Truespark mages at J-4, south of H-4, our current location. Take cover behind the tent in the northern section of J-4 and fire your arrows or spells from there. If you’re a warrior then use the tent as a safe-zone to regenerate health from the Truespark Mages. The Truespark mages deal between 27 and 30 damage and have either 234, 269 or 304 health points depending on their three different levels, 11, 12, 13. Truespark Mages also have a slowing spell that’ll decrease your speed dramatically. The drop item that you’re looking for is the Listening Beacon. This’ll be a drop item from the Truespark Mages.
Report back to Jei once you’ve found the Listening Beacon on H-4. Talk to him and he’ll promise to keep an eye out for the beacons around the camp. He then promises to send missive to camps in the area to be cautious for these Listening Beacons. Hit “Complete Quest” when you’re ready to claim your 45 gold pieces.

Once you’ve completed the “Guard Your Tongue” quest, Jei will inform you that rumors have spread upon the superiors that the next shard location has been discovered. Jei would like you to contact Lord Ezzunos, in the city to the northeast about this and to learn more about what is going on. The only requirement for this quest is to meet with Lord Ezzunos. The reward for this quest 15 gold pieces. Accept the quest.
Lord Ezzunos is in the city to the northeast. You can find the grand city at G-2. G-1 and G-3 have Guardian and Phoenix camps. You past the city when completing the first Southern Tempor quest. Once you reach G-2 enter the city and move north. Make your way to the back of the city and seek council with Lord Ezzunos. He is glad to finally meet you, but mentions that your time is short.
Even Blind Squirrels!

Lord Ezzunos reamrks that the Guardians are aware that we know the location of the next shard. While the Phoenix know where the next shard is, the Guardian do not know where the HeartStone shard is. Lord Ezzunos warns you that the Guardians are acting desperate and in an effort to detect where the Phoenix may be looking they have spread soldiers all across the land of Tempor. Doing they will be able to detect where the Phoenix move their forces for another attempt to find the next HeartStone shard. Lord Ezzunos states that the Guardians have a band of soldiers in the exact location of the HeartStone shard. Ezzunos would like you to kill all 7 Truespark Mages there and then report back to him. The reward for this quest is 45 gold pieces. Accept the quest.
We can find these Truespark Mages and the location of our next HeartStone shard (although we cannot yet investigate the cave for it yet) on J-1, the most southwestern part of the map, or southwest of our current location. The Truespark Mages will always be close enough to one another so that another one is alerted of your presence when you fire your bow, or attack another unit. I’d suggest taking out the left-most TrueSpark mage first and then taking out the next, left-most Truespark Mage that was alerted when you attacked the first mage. One you kill those 2 Truespark Mages attack the right-most mage. Then attack the next right-most mage after the first one is dead. Once that mage is dead take out the last 3 mages in any order. The first four killings should be taken place while standing upon the roof of the cave. This is especially important for the first 2 truespark Mages because another mage will immediately attack you. To stay out of the 2 and 4 Truespark Mages that you kill you must stay on top of the cave. Take out the last 3 mages in any order.
Once you’ve killed all 7 Truespark mages report back to Ezzunos in the grand city. You can find Ezzunos at G-2. Upon reporting back to Ezzunos he’ll hear that the area is now clear. Upon hearing this he’ll remark that it is time to act! Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your 45 gold pieces.
And One Becomes Two!

After completing the “Even Blind Squirrels,” Ezzunos will inform you of a new quest. He mentions that all of the preperations are complete and now is the time to act. Ezzunos mentions that the HeartStone shard is definitely in the cave to the southwest. He claims that his soldiers have cleared the area outside of the cave of the Guardian units. Ezzunos believes that the Guardians may have been alerted that the HeartStone shard is at J-1. Lord Ezzunos informs you that you’ll need to be prepared for a fight and that you must bring back the HeartStone shard! The reward for this quest is 85 gold pieces. Accept the quest.
Let’s move to the cave location. We can find the cave at J-1, where we previously fought the Truespark Mages. Once there you’ll notice that there is another NCP quest giver there, Bobar the Bum. We notice that Bobar the Bum wishes for us to find another stone in this cave. This quest is optional and doesn’t have to be completed, but if you’re looking for a little extra gold and possibly experience accept the quest. There is a large drop rate of this Guardian Stone so don’t worry about haing to grind for the stone. The Stone Guardians will drop the Guardian Stones. Accept the quest if you wish.
Let’s make our way inside of the cave. Of course, there are already several enemies that’ll attack us on sight if they come close enough. I’d suggest that you stand in the doorways and fire at any soldiers that are broken off from the pack. If there is none, take out the archers, as they’ll prove to be both strong and of course, far away from you. As the warriors agro you take them out, you should try to have at least one of the archers down before you begin the fight with th warriors. Once the 1 or 2 agro warriors are gone and you’ve killed both of the achers you can proceed safely to the next room. One or two enemies will be left in each room. Take them out if you wish.
For this cave, we’ll need to light three different torches. If we light all three we can then fight the boss! The boss is in the most northeastern room. Once we’re in the room, if you’re a ranged class fire at him from the opposite side of the room. You need good running speed for this boss! The rule of either ranged class is to fire, run away and get enough distance between your enemy and repeat. If you’re a ranged class follow those rules! If you’re an archer, or another class with an ability to slow-down the Colossal Guardian use it! The Colossal Guardian is fast! He’ll attack if you’re in the red circle around him. If you uses a special attack that makes his circle change into some sort of ancient writing, get out of his circle and take this opportunity to fire at him, he’ll be stuck in that mode for a second or two. Use that time to do some damage to him. It took me about 10 minutes to beat the boss. Once we beat him he’ll drop some pretty good armors and weapons. Let’s get out of here and report back to Lord Ezzunos in the city to the northwest.
Meeting up with Lord Ezzunos in the city (G-2) he suggests that there are four pieces to the HeartStone. He then suggests that you head east and continue your adventure there. Hit the “Complete Quest” button and you’ll be rewarded with 85 gold pieces. Upon talking to him, he’ll inform you that there are 4 HeartStone pieces, based upon how Guardius broke it and how the currently found, 2 pieces fit together. Lord Ezzunos informs you that you must now proceed east to the Guardian camps in the center of Tempor. Hit the “Complete Quest” button and claim your 85 gold pieces.
The Other Stone

Speaking to Bobar the Bum, outside of the J-1 cave we learn that the creatures in the cave hold a different kind of stone, not HeartStone pieces, but Guardian Stone. Bobar mentions that rumor exist that such a stone does exist and that you can find it on a couple of the Stone Guardians. The reward for this quest is 55 gold pieces. Accept the quest and enter the cave.
Upon entering the cave on J-1, you’ll find that there are four Stone Guardians in that room alone and like the name suggests, they creatures protect stones. They will also drop stones when they die. These are the items that Bobar is looking for. For me, half of the Stone Guardians dropped Guardian stones. So there is a pretty high drop rate. Once you find the Guardian Stone report back to Bobar the Bum on J-1. Click “Complete Quest” to claim you 55 gold pieces.
No One For Miles!

At this point in the game we’ll want to make our way east and into the center of Tempor. Let’s actually make our way to H-8 first. Once there we’ll find our next quest giver, Captain Kangkin. Upon talking to him he’ll welcome up to the south-central area of Tempor. Kangkin explains that this part of Tempor doesn’t have many natural resources and that the only two camps here, this camp and the Guardian camp to the southeast. While there are little natural resources, if the Phoenix could exclusively hold this area it would give them an advantage in the war. Kangkin wants you to kill all Guardian members in the camp to the southeast. If you complete this quest you’ll be rewarded with a Champion’s Mark. You can find the camp on section I-9 once you accept the quest. You must kill six Guardian Commanders.
Head to I-9 and kill all six of the Guardian Commanders. Since there is no long-ranged enemies you don’t really need to hide at all. Take them out one by one. If you’re a ranger or mage, you can probably take them out before they reach you. Guardian Commanders can deal 26-32 damage and have around 300 health. Report back to Kangkin. He’ll congratulate you and then tells you to meet more Phoenix camps along the path to the north.
Guiding a Youngling!

At this point of the game, you may want to upgrade your weapon. Let’s head over to our alternative faction camp, which would be dependent upon your class. Since I’m a Ranger, I’m going to go over the “Guiding a Youngling” quest. If you’re a Blademaster head to F-7 and if you’re a magician make your way to E-9. Doing these quests will reward you with new weapons or armors. I’m going to go over the Guiding a Youngling. Let’s make our way to G-9, this is where we’ll find our next Warder camp. Rayleigh, our quest giver, will be glad to see us! A new recruit wishes to learn the way of the bow and Rayleigh asks you to teach him to kill. He wants you to move to the camp to the north, the Magicians’ camp and slay 6 of their Hydromancers. The reward for this quest is the Grimshot Bow. Accept the quest.
Let’s make our way to the Magicians’ camp to the north. Francis, the recruit, will come with us and will aid us. Try to take cover behind the tent or tree before attacking the Hydromancers. Francis will have 840 health points so you shouldn’t have to worry about him dying. Try to alert only one Hydromancer at a time of your presence and take down one at a time. With Francis’ help you shouldn’t have a problem killing off the Hydromancers and the Hydromancers won’t heal themselves. They should go down in a 3 or 4 hits, especially with Francis at your side.
Once you’re done report back to the quest giver on G-9. Rayleigh mentions that Francis joined because you were part of the organization. He also mentions that you should try becoming a recruiter for the Warder faction. When you’re ready, hit the “Complete Quest” button and claim your new Grimshot Bow.
Displaying Our Might!

Direct your attention now to location C-7. Once at C-7, speak to the quest giver there by the name of Adolphus. He mentions the conincidence that the last 2 HeartStone pieces were located in cave, but he also mentions that the Guardians are planning a recon mission into the cave to the west of C-7. Macar wants you to kill all of the Guardian soldiers that you find there. If they come into possession of the HeartStone shard it could turn the tables in the war. Adolphus urges you to go to the cave and kill any Guardian members there. Completion of this quest will reward you 95 gold pieces. Hit the “Accept Quest” button and find your way to the cave.
The cave is located at C-6, directly west of C-7, the camp that you’re at. Once there take out the Honor Knights. You’ll need to take out all of the Honor Knights to complete this quest. It’ll be impossible to not warn the other members of your presence, so you’ll need to take use of the Hybrid Soldiers with you. Try to take out Honor Knights that are closest to the west. This will alert few Honor Soldiers and if done correctly on 2 or 3 Honor Soldiers will come after you. Luckily you have Hybrid Soldiers with you. Allow the Hybrid Soldiers to get close to the enemies once you lure them to the roof of the cave. Hide atop the mouth of the cave if you need to rest for a second and take down the Honor Knights that’ll come from either side of you. Once you’ve killed all 9 knights report back to
Once 9 Hybrid Soldiers have been killed report back to quest giver Adolphus in C-7. Adolphus will congratulate you and then tells you to travel to the Guardian camps to the northwest. He promises that he’ll have scouts search the cave to the west for the shard. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to collect you 95 gold pieces.
A Clever Disguise!

Let’s make our way to A-7 and speak to the quest giver there. Faolan infroms us that many of the Guardian messages have been successfully intercepted and interpreted. Although, as the Guardians realizes that this is a growing problem they have more cleverly hidden their missives. Faolan notfies you that a double agent believes that the next messages will come engraved upon gold coins. Faolan wants to be sure that when the Phoenix go after the next shard that the neighboring Guardian faction camps are notified of the next location as well. Faolan wishes for you to travel east and recover a decoy gold coin. Completion of this quest will reward with one of the following items, the Captain’s Boots, the Tunic of Wind, or the Channeler’s Greaves. Accept the quest.
Let’s move to A-8. This is where we’ll find the band of soldiers that Faolan was talking about. If we notice, there is a trigger point just to the east in A-8. If you want to take out all of the Trueblades first do so, because it’s be very difficulty to take them down once all of them are on your tail. They also have pretty good movement speed. Once you’ve stepped upon the trigger point the quest item, Decoy Gold, will drop. Once you’ve picked up the Decoy Gold, all of the Trueblade units will chase after you. You can either leave at this point or you can kill them off for the experience points that they may hold. If you have the Grimshot bow, or the equivalent in the Blademaster’s of Magician’s factions killing the Trueblades won’t be a problem as long as you take them down before you step on the trigger point. Pick it up and head back to Faolan at A-7.
Once back at A-7, speak with Faolan. Upon speaking to him he’ll mention that his decoders will get to work right away to find out what the Guardians are conversing about. He then insists that you pick one item. Select the item you wish to take and hit the “Complete Quest” button.

After you’ve completed the “A Clever Disguise” quest, by quest giver Faolan, Faolan will once again speak to you of another quest. Faolan mentions that while the decoders are working to see if the Guardians are aware of the next HeartStone shard location, word has spread the your presence has been requested in the grand city to the southeast of your current location. Lord Gigatron wishes to speak to you. Faolan believes it’s in regards to a special mission. The reward for this quest is 60 gold pieces.
Let’ make our way to F-9. Once at F-9 we’ll want to enter the city and meet with Lord Gigatron. He’ll be at the front of the city and the requirement for this quest will be completed immediately after entering the city. Speak with Lord Gigatron and he’ll be grad to meet you. He then mentions that there is much to discuss. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your 60 gold pieces.
Delaying the Inevitable!

After completing the “Report to Lord Gigatron” quest, Gigatron will give you a new quest. This time the quest is entitled “Delaying the Inevitable.” Gigatron has noted that the Guardians are becoming more desperate and are now attempting to stall the Phoenix army in any way possible. As the Phoenix were looking for the third HeartStone shard they eliminated most areas around the cave to the northwest. The Guardians realize this and have now blocked the entrance to the cave, in attempts to stall the Phoenix faction. Gigatron hands you several explosives and tells you to use them on the boulders outside of the cave. The reward for this quest is 105 gold pieces and the quest to go after the HeartStone shard. Accept the quest.
Once at the cave, C-6, you’ll notice that there are 5 Guardian Scouts on duty there. Guardian Scouts are long-ranged bowmen with the ability to deal 34 to 37 damage points. Their health values ranged from 465, 534 and 604. Guardian Scouts also have an arrow type that’ll paralyze your character for a brief one or two seconds, while the other Guardian Scouts can continuously fire at you. I’d suggest taking out the Guardian Scouts before you hit the trigger point. If you hit the trigger point while all 5 of the enemies units are there, they’ll stun you for a good amount of time while they keep the fire on you. I lost a good 400 health or so before I could reach the top. So, learning from experience, try not to do what I did. Stand on top of the cave mouth and poke your head out to take out the scouts. Take out the left-most Guardian Scout first and then the right-most. As there numbers dwindle to 3 and it becomes impossible to not get hit by the other 2 scouts when taking down one you’ll get hit when you go after one of the three, by, most likely, all three. Once you’ve taken out all 5 Guardian Scouts report back to Gigatron in the city.
Once back in the city (F-9), talk to Gigatron. He’ll remark that the cave is now open and will congratulate you. He then exclaims that the time to act is now! Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your 105 gold pieces.
Supply Routes!

At this point of the game you can either go after the third HeartStone shard and face the Spellbound Guardian, which is extremely over-buffed with healing spells (heals 2000 health when low on health) or you can travel to northeastern Tempor and take on some dangerous quests there. Skip down to “Further Reclamation” if you wish to face the Spellbound Guardian. I’d suggest that since the Spellbound Guardian is going to be close to impossible to beat at this point of the game (I’m a level 22 Ranger with the best bow in the game thus far) we’re going to want to stock up on new armors, weapons, jewel, et cetera at the northeastern part of Tempor. Let’s travel there by following the path north and then following the path east.
First, we’re going to stop at B-11, a small camp full of Battle Clerics. Captain Plilipi, remarks that you have to admire to Guardians persistent to find the last HeartStone shard. Philipi informs you that directly east of our current location is a Guardian camp made to block the supply line of the Phoenix to their capital city to the south. Philipi mentions that the road ahead is guarded by the Spellsparks. He wants you to kill 10 of these Spellsparks and then report back to him. The reward fro this quest is one of the following items, the Chestguard of Victory, the Pathfinder’s Pants, or the Spellslinger’s Robes. Accept the quest.
Let’s make our way due east and find the Spellsparks. The Guardian Spellsparks have 536, 616, or 696 health points and can deal 43-44 damage. The Guardian Spellsparks also have a slowing spell that’ll cut your speed dramatically. try to attack Spellsparks, that when attacked won’t alert other Guardian Spellsparks of your presence. Once you’ve completed your task report back to Philipi, on B-11, with the good news. He’ll congratulate you and then tells you that you should make way to the Phoenix camp to the southeast of here. Select the item that you wish to receive and hit the “Complete Quest” button.
Cleansing the Water!

At this point in the game you may be looking for a new weapon. At this point of the game you should have the Grimshot Bow, which was covered earlier in the tutorial. of course if you’re part of a different faction you may have a different weapon. If you’re a Warder, at this point of the game head to D-14, if you’re a Magician head to D-11 and if you’re a Blademaster head to A-13. Since I’m a Ranger, I’ll cover the “Cleansing the Water” quest. let’s make our way to D-14, the only Warder’s camp in northeastern Tempor. Once there talk to Honsen, the quest giver in the area. He’ll mention that the Magicians upstream have been polluting the water with their potions and have made the water unsanitary. Honsen wants you to destroy one of their refineries to the west with the explosives that he gives you. The reward for this quest is the Wavebreaker bow. One of the best bows in the entire game. Accept the quest.
Let’s make our way to the north side of E-11. There you’ll find 4 Spellslingers each with 696 or 777 health points. They are a magic based class and can deal a good amount of damage. If you attack an enemy before blowing up the refinery you’re bound to draw the attention of the other Spellslingers. If you do attract the attention of one or two other Spellslingers then after you kill the first one, the one that you began shooting at, leave E-11 and when you come back none of the enemies will agro you and one less Spellslinger will be there (because you kill him). Once you’re ready blow up the refinery. All of the Spellslingers will attack you.
Make your way back to Hosen, the quest giver in the Warder camp at D-14. Once we arrive at D-14, make your way to Hosen and report back to him the good news. Hosen exclaims that his soldiers could hear the boom from where they stand. Hosen says that in a couple of days the river will be clear of the potions and will be safe once again to drink. Hosen insist that you take the Wavebreaker bow as a reward. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your Wavebreaker bow.
Buying Time!

Let’s head over to C-14, upon Philipi’s suggestion that west travel southeast to the next camp. Quest giver Captain Rands gives us a brief history of how the Guardians came to be and he tells us that many of the Gaurdian members were once with the Phoenix, even Brin Guardius – them an whom hid the HeartStone shards around Tempor. Rands mentions that they still have many of his documents that may hint at where the next HeartStone shards are located at. A researcher to the north believes that he may have a break-through, but the Gaurdians rallied in the area wish for his death. Captain Rands would like you to travel north and protect the researcher from the Guardian troops. Completion of this quest will give you one of three items, the Helmet of Victory, the Pathfinder’s Covers, or the Spellslinger’s Shoes. Accept the quest.
We should head to the researcher’s tent now. You can find the tent at A-14, the most northeastern part of Tempor. Once at A-14, you’ll notice a trigger point in front of the researcher’s tent. Step on it and 3 sepaate waves Myrmidons will chase after you. I presume that the historian is in his tent. Nevertheless, you don’t actually have to protect him as he isn’t really there. The first wave will consist of 2 Myrmidons, the second wave will consist of 3 Myrmidons and the third wave will consist of 4 Myrmidons. Myrmidons will have a slowing spell that’ll cause your speed to be reduce, even though Myrmidons are a primarily melee based class. You can take them down easily if you’re a Ranger by running and then firing, running and then firing, just repeat the cycle until they’re all dead. Once the wave is killed off a new wave will appear. once you kill all 3 waves report back to Rands.
Let’s make our way back to Captain Rands. Rands will congratulate you and will mention that the researcher will be done soon with his project. Rands gestures that you follow the path south to southeastern Tempor and find the Phoenix camps there. Select the item you wish to receive and hit the ‘Complete Quest” button.
If you’ve already completed the Further Reclamation skip the next section “Further Reclamation” and go to “Feigned Discoveries” [mnwsi].

Note: if you’ve just completed the “Buying Time” quest you will not be able to proceed to southeastern Tempor just yet! You have find the third HeartStone piece. If you didn’t do the “Buying Time,” “Supply Routes,” and the “Cleansing the Water” quests then it may be difficulty to defeat the Spellbound Guardian. If you’ve already completed those quests and got some good armors and weapons, as well as leveled up a bit it should make the Spellbound Guardian easier to beat, but he’ll still be very difficult to kill. Try to reach level 25+ to beat the Spellbound Guardian.
Now that we’ve completed the “Delaying the Inevitable” quest, the rocks in front of the cave have been cleared and we can now enter the cave. let’s first speak to Gigatron. After completing the previous quest, Gigatron will continue and will speak of the next quest “Further Reclamation.” This quest will allow us to collect the third HeartStone shard. Gigatron believes that next pieces is in there and is now sending you on a quest to retrieve it. He then warns you that there may be epic dangers once inside of the cave – Guardius wouldn’t have allowed the HeartStone shard to be unprotected. Once you’ve collect the third pieces you’re only one pieces away from uniting Tempor’s most powerful weapon. The requirement for this quest is retrieve the third HeartStone shard in the cave to the northwest. The reward for this quest is 115 gold pieces. Accept the quest.
Let’s head over to the cave. It’s located just to the northwest. It is also the location where we fought the Guardian Scouts and completed the previous “Delaying the Inevitable” quest. You can find the cave on C-6, as marked on your map. Once inside of the cave you’ll notice that the first room is empty. All of the rooms, except the boss room, will have 2 Frost Guardians and 4 Cinder Guardians. The Frost Guardians are long-ranged mages that have slowing spells and deal a considerable amount of damage and the Cinder Guardians have fiery arrow attacks. Since they’re all long-ranged units and there is no place to hide you’ll just have to take them out in open-combat. What you’ll want to do first upon entering a room is kill any Cinder Guardians that, when attacked, won’t alert the other Cinder Guardians. Once you’ve killed one or two Cinder Guardians that way try taking out the Frost Guardians. Stand in the doorway so that arrows from sharper angles won’t be able to hit you.
You’ll actually need to step on three trigger points in this cave. If you follow the eastern path you’ll run across one trigger point and if you follow the northern path and veer south once you get the opportunity you’ll run across another trigger point. Finally, if you just follow the northern path you’ll run across another trigger point. Once you’ve hit all of the trigger points you’ll be able to enter the door leading to the boss. If you start from the beginning of the cave and follow the northern path, just take a left as soon as possible to find the boss door. Hit the trigger point beside the door and the door will be destroyed allowing you access into the boss room.
The boss is the Spellbound Guardian is has 5930 health points. or this boss battle you might want to bring a little back up, as if you’re not carefully you could be flooded with enemies. All the Spellbound Guardian can do is summon more enemies to fight you and while most of these enemies can be killed in one or two hits tops, they can overwhelm you and kill you. I’d suggest bringing an Arcanist, a Tracker and 2 Redswords. All of these units can be purchased in the city that you got this very quest from. You can purchase them from the Merchant faction. If you have those units with you, you’ll kill Spellbound Guardian in less than a minute, really it’s overkill. Allow the two Redswords to fight against the Spellbound Guardian up close and the Tracker, Arcanist and you should stand at a safe distance firing at the boss. Just keep firing and he’ll die. The Spellbound Guardian can heal for 2000, but with this team you’ll be able to do 3000+ before he can heal again.
Once you’ve killed him, pick up the HeartStone piece. He’ll also drop a rare weapon or armor. If it fits your class take it and it might be better than your current weapon. Once you have the HeartStone shard take the trigger point out. You’ll find yourself at the entrance of the cave again. Let’s make our way back to Gigatron in the grand city to the southeast. Once there be sure to speak to him. He’ll be enthusiastic about the quest to retrieve all the HeartStone shard and he’ll congratulate you on finding another shard. Gigatron suspects that there is one more HeartStone shard to find! Hit the “Complete Quest” button and claim your 115 gold pieces.

At this point in the game you can either head to the numerous northeastern camps, or you can complete another optional side-quest. Skip down to “Winning the Battles” if you wish to proceed with the storyline. Outside of the grand city, that Gavalar is in, is a quest giver by the name of Mobin. He’ll be right outside of the city walls in F-9. Mobin is concerned about the wolves in the area. He heard of your deeds of killing the Wolfmaster and is suspecting that something similar may be happening here. Mobin wants you to kill 8 Grizzled Wolves in the cave to the south. If you complete this quest you’ll be rewarded with 50 gold pieces.
Head to J-9, at the very bottom of the map, directly south of your current location. There are three Grizzled Wolves outside of the cave and many more inside of the cave. The only requirement of this quest is to kill 8 Grizzled Wolves. Once you’ve killed 8 return to Mobin and talk to him. He’ll congratulate you and remark that it’s hard to travel with so many wolves around. Hit the “Complete Quest” button and claim your 50 gold pieces.
The Other Wolfmaster!

After completing “The Wolves Return” quest, Mobin will ask you to investigate the same cave for another Wolfmaster. Like the last Wolfmaster, this man is controlling the wolves and making them stay in the area and possibly making them more aggregative towards wonderers. The reward for this quest is 65 gold pieces.
Once inside of the cave run to the very back of the cave seek Wolfmaster Mondoran. Wolfmaster Mondoran will be guarded by two of his Grizzled Wolves. I’d suggest taking out the wolves first and trying to avoid the bow attacks. of course you could also ignore the Grizzled Wolves while running around the room if you can move fast enough. If you are fast enough you’ll also be able to dodge the arrows with ease. if you aren’t fast enough to dodge the arrows then don’t waste your time trying to do so. Wolfmaster Mondoran will do around 40 to 60 damage and has an arrow attack that will slow your movement. Look for a blue arrow. When low on health Mondoran will heal for 200 damage. Keep the pressure on him and he’ll go down. Once he’s dead retreat out of the cave.
Let’s head back to Mobin to the north. Mobin can be found at F-9, as marked on your map. Talking to Mobin, he’ll congratulate you and then mentions that he hope there isn’t a third brother. Hit the “Complete Quest” button and claim your 65 gold pieces.
Wild Centaurs!

If we move to location C-12, we’ll find Citizen Sydney, whom’ll give us an optional side-quest that revolves around the wild centaurs in the area. He mentions that the wolves in the past quests are nothing compared to Centaurs. Sydney wants to push them out of Tempor for good as these beasts attack anyone that they see and are powerful. Sydney will mark where you can find these centaurs on your map if you accept the quest. He wants you to kill 15 Centaur Elders. The reward for this quest is 70 gold pieces. Accept the quest and head northeast.
Move to B-13. Here you’ll find a group of Centaur Elders. They hae 650 to 850 health points and can dish out a fair amount of damage. There is no real protection from the Centaur Elders, so attack one at a time and try not to alert others. Try to stand at a fair distance and fire your arrows or spells at them. If you’re a warrior get in close and try not to alert the other Centaurs that you’re there. There is also another group of Centaur Elders to the south of B-13, C-13.
Once you’ve killed 15 Centaurs head back to Syndey and talk to him. He’ll congratulate you and will remark that the people won’t have to go outside with fear that they’ll be attacked any more. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your 70 gold pieces.
Centaur Lord Felsin!

After completing the “Wild Centaurs” quest, given to you by Sydney, he’ll give you another quest. it turns out that while we were slaying the Centuar Elders a merchant came by and told Sydney that the Centaurs may be leaded by some sort of leader. Unfortunately, when the Centaurs noticed the merchant they ran towards the cave to the northeast. Sydney believe that if you kill the leader the Centaurs might just leave Tempor. Sydney wishes you to go to the cave and kill the Centaur Lord. The reward for this quest is one of these three items, the Aegis of Light, the Forest Lord’s Greaves, or the Crown of Foresight. Accept the quest.
Let’s make our way to the cave, it’s on B-14, just to the northwest of our current location. Once there enter the cave and make your way to the back of the cave. The Centaur Lord is an incredible easy fight. If you plan on fighting the Centuars earlier in the cave, try taking out the ones that are broken off from the path. This is easiest to achieve when fighting Cnetuars in herds of 3. A group of 4 will force you to make one or more Centaur agro you.
The Centaur Lord is actually the same speed as a Centaur, but has a lot more health points and can do more damage. If you’ve boosted your dexterity and can run faster than a Centaur this should be an easy battle. While easy, it’ll be a long battle because of the Centaurs large amount of heath. The Centaur Lord will have over 6000 health points. My main strategy as a Ranger was to outrun the Centaur and to fire once I got enough distance between him and I, then I repeated the cycle – running, firing, running firing.
Once you’ve killed the Centaur Lord report back to Sydney, back on C-12. Upon talking to him, he’ll congratulate you and hopes that this will end the Centaur problem in the area. Select the item that you want and hit the “Complete Quest” button.
Feigned Discoveries!

Let’s make our way into southeastern Tempor at this point in the game. You should have previously completed the “Buying Time,” [iewjs] ”Supply Routes” [oaoqw] and “Cleansing the Water” [soqmn] quests while in northeastern Tempor. The first camp that we’ll want to visit is at F-11. The quest giver there, Bardolph has an interesting quest for us to do! Bardolph recently learned that the Guardian Researcher, to the southeast, will be leaving his research center for some time. Bardolph wants you to sneak into that camp and plant false information. Therefore, when the researcher comes back he’ll think that he’s stumbled upon a great discovery that’ll help the Guardians tremendously when in fact he’ll be leading the Guardians in the wrong direction. The reward for this quest is the Red Badge of Courage. Accept the quest.
Let’s proceed to the southeast, specifically to G-14, where the researcher’s research center is location. At G-14 we’ll find 7 Stormstingers, which are one of the best archer units for the Guardians. Their health ranges from 688 and 894. Try to take out the units that are broken off from the rest of the Guardian Stormstingers or else it’s become a kind of chain reaction. You can hide behind the tent to the northeast if you wish, or if you have other soldiers with you (at this point of the game I have 1 Champion, 2 Redswords and one Tracker) you can let them attack the enemy units and act as a shield for you while you back them up. Either way, once you plant the false information all 7 of the Guardian Stormstingers will attack you. Kill them for the experience that they have at this point of the game if you wish.
Once you’re ready to leave start heading back to Bardolph at F-11. Talk to him and he’ll congratulate you for your victory. He explains that this will buy the Phoenix some time to make a move. Hit the “Compelte Quest” button to claim your Red Badge of Courage. Equip it unless you have a better jewel with you.
The Scouting Party!

Let’s make our way to the next and final Phoenix camp in the game. You can find the last phoenix camp at J-14, the most southeastern part of Tempor. Once there talk to quest giver Kurt. Kurt explains that as the Guadians become more and more desperate they’re placing more bands of troops around Tempor in hopes to detect movement of the Phoenix. A scouting party is too close for Kurt’s liking and is near the location of the next HeartStone shard. Captain Kurt wants you to slay all of the Aeromancers in the camp to the northwest. Let’s make our way northwest like Kurt suggested. We’ll actually want to be at I-11. Once we arrive at I-11, if you’ve followed the Warder quests you’ll be a kill-on-sight target. I took cover behind the brush to the southeast and had my men stand behind there as well. Then I took out the Aeromancers that are closest to the east. Once I’d killed those 2 Aeromancers I took out the entire middle of the camp with help from my allies. This should be an easy task. There should be one or two more Aeromancers on the west side that are non-alerted. Take them out from long-ranged. This should be an especialyl easy task if you have allies with you.
Once you’ve killed all 6 Aeromancers we’ll want to report back to Kurt at J-14, the southeast corner of Tempor. Upon talking to Kurt he is glad that we’e managed to clear the area. He mentions that now that we’ve cleared the are the Phoenix faction will be able to investigate the cave without notice from the Guardians. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your 130 gold pieces.

After you complete “The Scouting Party” quest, Kurt, the quest giver, will tell you that the Lord Captain Aerist wants to meet with. Kurt tells you that Lord Captain is the highest rank in the entire Phoenix army, outside of the Black Council. Aerist serves as the voice of the council, Kurt mentions. Kurt urge you to move quickly to the Phoenix capital city to the north and to make haste. The reward for this quest is 60 gold pieces. Accept the quest.
Let’s make our way north to I-13. I-13 hold the capital city of the Phoenix faction. Also residing here is the Black Council. Lord Captain Aerist will be in the back of the city near the Black Council congregation. Upon talking to him he’ll welcome you to the capital city and will mention that this is the finest hour of the Phoenix faction. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your 60 gold pieces.

Once you’ve reach 2000 reputation points with the Phoenix faction and after completing the “Report to Aerist” quest, Lord Captain Aerist will inform you of a new quest that he’ll give you himself! Lord Captain Aerist informs you that this is the last step to reclaim the last pieces of the HeartStone. Aerist mentions that as soon as we move into the cave the Guardians will use their long network of communication to send word that the Phoenix are on the move for the last HeartStone piece. If that happens the Guardians will pour their entire army into getting the last piece of the HeartStone. Aerist wishes for you to place a trap outside of their capital city. He has marked the location on the map of which you shall place the trap. The reward for this quest is one of these three items, the Dragon’s Scale, the Warder’s Feetcovers, or the Magician’s Cap. Accept the quest.
For this quest we’re going to head right outside of the Guardian capital city. Let’s make our way to H-11. Here we’ll find 5 Aeromancers and a trigger point. You may be kill-on-sight for this quest so just take out the Aeromancers from long-range and then hit the trigger point. If you wish you could hit the trigger point and then run for it. I’d suggest killing them as you’ll get a little extra experience points. You can take cover behind one of the bushes/trees in the area. Try to take out the Aeromancers so that the other units aren’t notified of your precence. Snipe them down one by one. Your back-up soldiers will also help you out if the enemy is in range. Once you’ve killed all of the Aeromancers hit the trigger point.
Now that you’ve placed the messenger trap report back to Lord Captain Aerist in the phoenix grand city. He’ll be where we left him, next to the Black Council members in the back of the city. Talk to Aerist and he’ll say that all of the hard work is about to pay off and to be prepared to execute the will of the Black Council for the final quest. Select the item that you want and hit the “Complete Quest” button.
The Final Shard!

After you’ve completed the “Cutting Communication” quest, Aerist will give you another quest. This time it’s to go after the final shard and if you can find the final shard you can reforge the HeartStone. Aerist says that the trap for the messengers has been placed and the time for the Phoenix’s dominance is at hand. He informs you that the cave is to the southwest. Lord Captain Aerist warns you that Brin Guardius has probably protected the cave well with many dangerous creates and foul beasts. He tells you that you must find the final HeartStone pieces and that failure is not an option. The reward for this quest is 130 gold pieces.
Before we leave for the quest it would be a good idea to stock up on some helping hands. From the merchants I bought a Champion and I still have 2 Redswords and a Tracker from the last boss battle. This should be a good team to have with you! Now let’s head southwest to the cave that Aerist speaks of. We can find the cave on J-11, near the river. Enter the cave when you’re ready.
Blood Guardians will have swarmed every room. They have 983 health points and can be killed off fairly quickly, especially if you have a couple of good units with you. Try to take out the Blood Guardians that are broken off from the pack. This allow you to get some 5-1 combat and will insure that none of your own soldiers die. If you get 2 Blood Guardians to chase you let your Champion and Redswords take care of one Blood Guardians and you take the other. Once you’ve kill your unit the Champion and Redsword, plus your Tracker will focus their attacks on the remaining unit. These Blood Guardians really don’t stand a chance against you.
Wrath Guardians, Death Guadians, and more assorted enemies will also be inside of the cave. If you make your way to the door in the cave, with the 4 grayed out orbs on it, there is 2 trigger points on the western and eastern flanks. You have to activate all 4 of the trigger points. If you follow the path when you first enter the cave and then when you enter the room with 4 doors take the east most path you’ll run across 2 more doors take the southern-most door and follow that path you’l find another trigger point there. Finally, if you enter the 4 door room again and take the north door and then after that take the west door you’ll find the final trigger point. Back track again to the last room you visited and go east this time and follow the path north until you find the door again.
Once you hit the trigger point to open the door you’ll meet Brin Guardius, the man thought to be dead by most of the Tempor. He says that eerything was planned and that you life shall end by The Guardian. The Guardian has 9300 health points. My trick to beat The Guardian was to have my lone Champion (that was my only unit left) to attack The Guardian and hold him off from me while I fired at The Guardian. All you really need for this quest is one Champion to hold off the boss. Your Champion will heal himself for 150-170 when The Guardian Inflicts enough damage onto him and while the Champion may be healing himself for half of the battle he’ll still act as a shield for you.
Once you’ve killed The Guardian be sure to pick up the HeartStone piece and enter the trigger point. You’ll find yourself outside of the cave again on on J-11. Let’s get back to Aerist now. Enter the Phoenix grand city and meet with Aerist. He is shocked that Brin Guardius is still alive but knows that even he cannot stand in the way of the all-powerful HeartStone. Hit the “Complete Querst” button to claim your 130 gold pieces.

Now that you have all of the pieces of the HeartStone you may reforge it! The pieces are worthless and grant no power unless forged together properly and few men know how to correctly forge the pieces. Aerist mentions that the staged death has the entire Phoenix faction on edge – Guardius must have a plan for the Guardians. He mustn’t put the plan into motion! Aerist informs you that Researcher Kykun near the river to the southwest knows how to reforge the HeartStone into one. Aerist wishes for you to travel him and reforge the pieces. The reward for this quest is the HeartStone, a jewel stat grants you insane stat boosts. Accept the quest.
Were going to want to travel to the southwest, or due west of the cave we were just at. Researcher Kykun is next to the river. Go to J-10 and speak with researcher Kykun. Kykun will be enthusiastic about reforging the HeartStone and he exclaims that the Phoenix will have its vengeance afterall! It’ll only take him a moment to forge the HeartStone shard into the HeartStone. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim the HeartStone. Be sure to equip the HeartStone as it is the best jewel in the game and will grant incredible bonuses to your character’s stats.
Report Back to Aerist!

The researcher is sure that the Black Council will make good use of the weapon. Kykun urges you to meet with Aerist again! The reward for this quest is 60 gold pieces. Accept the quest.
Let’s travel back to the Phoenix capital city. We can find the city on I-13. Once again, Aerist will be in the back of the city with the Black Council members. Upon talking to him he can feel the power flowing through you know, the HeartStone is complete. He is glad that you have returned so soon, he has need of you for one last quest. Hit the “Complete Quest” button to claim your 60 gold pieces.
Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me!

After completing the “Report Back to Aerist” quest, Lord Captain Aerist will have one final quest for us to complete. Aerist is dumbfounded thatb Guardius manage to fool him and elude the assassin’s sent after him. Aerist describes him a thief and a traitor, but also the heart soul of the Guardians and if he was to be killed the Guardians would be crushed and their faction left in the rubble, ensuring the victory of the Phoenix. Aerist wants you to end his life. Aerist informs you that Brin Guardius can be found in a small camp to the north of the Phoenix capital city. Aerist says that ending his life will make you the hero of Tempor! The reward for this quest is 50 gold pieces. Accept the quest.
Brin Guardius will be just north of the city in H-13. He’ll be surrounded by 4 Guardians of Truth. If you want to just go overkill with this quest, purchase 4 Champions. Head north to H-13 and attack Brin Guardius first. If possible, attack any Gaurdians of Truth that are split off from the pack. At this point in the game you should have over 100% chance to crit. Right now I’m hitting 800+ damage with every hit. Concentrate your fire at Brin as your Champions distract Brin and the other Guardians of Truth. Once you’ve killed Brin move onto slaughtering the other Guardian of Truths.
Once you’ve killed all of the units report back to Aerist in the capital Phoenix city. Upon talking to him he’ll give a brief victory speech and will thank you for your great deeds with the Phoenix. He mentions that your name will go down in the history books. Once again he congratulates you. Click the “Complete Quest” to receive your 50 gold pieces.

i killed the boss in C-6 cave. Afterwards, I was stuck in the room with no way out. I picked up all the stuff that was dropped during the fight. Is this a glitch? I reset the game and went back.. the 3 globes that need to be highlighted in order to open the boss door were already done but now the boss door wont open. Nothing in the quests to be done. I was just trying to get to the last area of the map and it directed me to go to the cave kill the boss, which i did then i couldnt get out of the room because after you go in there the door is non-existent. So now im basically stuck in the game. Any ideas?

This is a known bug in the game. The portal appears based on what items you pick up, so if you pick up the HeartStone shard the portal will appear (make sure that you do pick up the HeartStone shard). If you can’t progress in the game try starting a new save file and see if that the problem persists – hopefully it will not.

No offense but you suck if it took you 10 minutes to beat the boss! I was on here seeing how I compare with other people and it looks like I’m doing good! It took me about 1-2 minutes to beat the boss for the 2nd shard. It took you 10. I am a magician, level 18. I used terrify to get him to not attack me and then I would attack him, I used the Ice Rune so whenever he attacked me he would freeze himself and I would get some hits on him.

I haven’t written a Hands of War 1 walkthrough, unfortunately, but many of the general tips provided here should help. Also, the Ranger class is extremely over-powered in Hands of War 1, and to some degree in Hands of War 2. Take the path of a Ranger and the game will be extremely easy. Hope that helps!

I played a magician or wizard or whatever in HoW2E but after reading the walk through and info given for HOW I was thinking of trying the ranger. I always play a magic-wielding class in every rpg I play (9 years with EQ, 1 with WoW, and numerous MUDs and console games) so I like ranged attacks. Do you think mages are under-powered in HoW (1) and I should play a ranger, or should it be okay to play a mage?
Thanks, hopefully I can find a walk through somewhere. They are a huge help, although I find it hard to believe I will find one as thorough and helpful as the ones I’ve found here.

Ah well, started as a ranger. Kinda the same type of play as a wizard, lots of casting anyway, even if it was to “shoot.” Beat it today. Fun game, I really wish I had played it before HoW2e though, because there were a lot of new things in HoW2e that I missed a LOT playing HoW – an amount showing up for how much you would get for selling stuff was the major one. The wolf that you could get extra runspeed from was another. The map telling you where the quest mobs were and where the quest giver guy to go back to is (spent a lot of time running around trying to figure out where I got that quest from). The person standing on the bridge instead of trying to run past 3 guys and finding out you cant get over because you just warped back a few steps and are still getting beat on.
And for anyone who is playing HoW (1), when you’re at the last shard and beat the boss, to get out of the tunnel you have to go back through all of the black bats which stun continuously and aggro as soon as you zone into the next room, just run past the one that aggros and zig zag into the next room, rinse and repeat. That part nearly killed me. Some bad placement with 3 bats at the entrance that at least 1 will aggro as soon as you zone in. No matter how I tried to get a shot off, didn’t have a chance with the 1.5-2sec stun that they hit you with every 3-3.5 seconds. Was barely able to get back across to the previous room one time due to it, but if you’ve raised your runspeed up enough you will get stunned once by that bat and if you don’t aggro the two others pretty much right on top of the one that auto aggroed you, you should be able to hold down run and zip out of there by outrunning the bat when you come to finally.
It was also a pain in the ass to have the bridge to cross to get from where the quest was to where the guys you had to kill were and there be 5 guys standing there you had to kill every time you wanted to run across. I did like the cities that were for both factions though.
It took more time to beat HoW2e, but HoW seemed like it took longer IMO.
My review: HoW (1) 7/10
HoW2e: 8.5/10
Was a fun game, good to sink some time into, good graphics for what it was, and its always nice to be able to play even when you’ve already won the game.
Oh, and HoW2:TD 10/10 for TD games, just wish there was more to do, thats my only dislike about it. And that, without unlocking (by paying??) you can’t complete some of the challenges in any way shape or form. I love those towers that gain power from the ones around them, 10 of those took 2 sec to kill a round of 6 bosses cranked up all the way. So much fun.
Really digging this series.

Great tips, but i figured out that for the task ‘And One Becomes Two!’ it is easier and takes around 1 minute (to kill the colossal protecter) if you buy 4 archers walk to the middle of the square room, press space bar to get the target and just run around the room like an idiot and let your archers kill the protecter! it works and they dont die either because they are archers!
